Hi guys,

Friend of mine rebuilt shovelhead motor. 100 miles after assembling rear cylinder started smokin. He pulled up head and cylinder. Marks found on the cylinder. Piston is like new. No sign of wear. He decided to pull front head also. The same story. Pistons are S&S forged. Cylinders were bored and honed by reputable shop. I was checking the clearance personally. It was perfect done.
What could be a problem?

it looks tight to me as well,,, forged run at .003-.005..
0.0035" is the actual clearance in jugs off tge block cindition.
Will check what Thermo suggested.
