I have aftermarket pipes with removable baffles on my VT1100c3 (Honda Shadow Aero). The problem is that the baffles quiet the bike too much and when they're gone it is absolutely obnoxious. I cannot get different baffles that could solve this problem and now I feel I am left with dealing with the two options or cutting into the baffles them selves. I have heard that you can cut them in half and take care of this concern but was hoping to hear what the forum's take on this idea is. My concern with cutting the baffles is that the pipes are cone shaped and I am wondering if I cut them down, they might rattle. I'm operating under the assumption that the baffles but up against the pipes and that is what keeps them in place. I could be completely off my rocker here and I completely acknowledge that.

Thanks,
Seth
