Shocks for lowered Softail

Any ideas for aftermarket shocks on a lowered Softail? I use the adapters that lengthen the shock mounts but the stock shocks seem to bottom out rather easily. Bike is about 1" to 1 1/4" lower in the rear than stock. I wouldn't mind a firmer ride if it meant no more clunks over bumps in the road. Any suggestions??

Hey PT, unless you're ready to fork out the bucks for an air system you can crank in the on the preload adjusters. This will stiffen things up and you won't bottom out anymore.

I hear this complaint a lot. I weigh about 280 and my wife ain't exactly a spinner at 150, I haven't bottomed out but once or twice in real tight curves with reverse camber surfaces.

I think that most guys don't know that they can adjust the rate and the length of softail shocks. Talk to your service department.

I ride this FAsTBOY hard regularly and hardly ever scrape.
