Getting a SERT - hopefully the "F" model.

Have a stock 05 Ultra, adding simple "Touring Mufflers and SE Air Cleaner".

65259-00 Touring Mufflers
29773-02B Air Cleaner

What map should I download? Then, what should I be looking to tweak?

Lastly, how do I know when it's close? Spark plug color? etc.

Thanks,

Bruce

Bruce: Definitely not an expert, but a seasoned beginner that initially had concerns such as yours.

From the SERT Tuning files you have:

Calibration #8: 2004 – 2005 Touring , 2001 – 2003 FLSTSi and 2005 FLSTSCi
Configuration: 1450 SE A/C and Mufflers
File Name: 105LF003-D0.MT6, 127LF004-B0.MT6
Components:
• SE Air Cleaner and Breather Kit P/N 29440-99B
• SE Performance Touring Mufflers P/N 65115-98B or 65116-98A

Calibration #9: 2004 – 2005 Touring , 2001 – 2003 FLSTSi and 2005 FLSTSCi
Configuration: 1550 SE A/C and Mufflers
File Name: 105LG003-D0.MT6, 127LG004-B0.MT6
Components:
• SE Air Cleaner and Breather Kit P/N 29440-99B
• SE 1550 Big Bore Cylinders P/N 16546-99 or 16549-99
• SE 1550 Flat Top Pistons P/N 22851-99A
• SE Performance Touring Mufflers P/N 65115-98B or 65116-98A
I initially went to aftermarket mufflers and air cleaner/breather, and my Dealer installed the Stage 1 BB ECM upgrade (Calibration #9) at factory's recommendation. SM claimed the Stage 1 (air cleaner and exhaust only)download (Cal. #8) was too lean!

So, my recommendation would also be Calibration #9 to get you started. Read the SERT's included Manual several times along with the Tuning and Data Record help files. If you serious about tweaking yourself, then research this Forum for any SERT related posts then hook up a laptop and do some Data Recordings.

All have recommended a final Dyno Tune by a qualified SERT Tuner.

Good luck!

With your setup i would check out the map that MegaGlide posted on this forum, i've loaded it on two 05 flht's and it works very nicely.
