Picked up a 09 Street Glide and have a guy locally that has a 1 piece mustang touring seat and says it will fit the 2008's & the 2009's. The dealer is telling me that's not right and the 2009's have different hardware points due to the frame change. All of the manufacturer websites I've found say "2008" or "2008 and later" without anything mentioned about the frame change.

What's the real scoop?

I just bought a HD Sundowner seat for my new 2009 Street Glide. The part says it fits 08-later FLHXs. Since it is a wider seat that the stock and it fits perfectly, I'd say your local guy is right that 08 seats will fit 09 touring. I would have thought the wider tire which lends to a wider fender would have been more of an issue. I guess the way they contoured the outer part of the fender they must have maintained the same shape and width as the 08 models.

I'm not familiar enough with the 08 FLHX to compare fender differences.

Picked up the seat this afternoon and was riding with it 20 minutes after I got home. Fits like a glove and can't see any issues. Front hardware mounts the same as stock and the rear screw hole lines right up.... Riding happy for 1/2 price.

They told me the same thing in an email today

"Chris,

We are not yet making any seats, accessories, or hardware for the 2009 bikes, sorry. We hope to start production of our 2009 products in January 2009. Please check back with us during the winter months to see what is available. Thanks for choosing Mustang.

BUT... the 08 seat bolts right up and appear to fit perfectly. The drivers backrest mount will not work and appears to need some sort of extra bracket or total redesign to mount up to the new frame. Pic below is before I mounted the new seat. Need to grab a few new pics this weekend.
