I picked up a 2007 Deuce with 103 in it on Ebay last summer. I am now tinkering with it while the snow is here in Western New York. My question: The rear fender struts have scuffs where I am assuming the saddlebags rubbed. Can I remove the struts and buff the scuffs out with a cloth wheel and fine abrasive or am I looking for new/used struts?
Also, Do these struts remove without cutting the turn signal wires? Thanks, TH

I doubt you can buff the scuffs out. The chrome is usually pretty thin and any attempts at a repair will make it worse. My guess is that you're either looking at replacing the struts or having the existing ones re-chromed. An option might be to powder-coat them in a complimentary color if the scuffs are that bad that you can't live with them.

Yes the struts can be removed without cutting the wires.
Bolts are inside the fender
