I am interested also.. Specifically about lifting up the fuel tank to unplug the headlight to install mine..

Do I need to take off the seat, and take off the rear tank bolt?? Or can I just take out the front bolt and lift the tank up to get at the headlight wire??

The best thing is to get a service manual and it will tell you how to do it.
Headlite bucket removal

I pulled mine apart (to black out the front end), but I didn't disconnect the wiring harness - I pulled the pins out of the headlight plug, cut the two ground wires, and slit the rubber boot at the headlight bucket. I put a male/female plug on the ends of the ground wires (with a plastic boot), and sliconed and taped the plug back on the wires. Seemed like a lot less work than lifting the tank, and now I can just unplug it next time

I thought the same thing on my deluxe ,after reading the manual , lifting the tank was pretty simple.

Damn, you sound like me... Its on order, just thought I could get some early help while its so cold outside.....
I took mine off ( heritage ) while replacing the broke pinch bolts on the lower triple tree. the rear two come off pretty easy. lossen side bolts for windshield. two torque screws in rear, the left side has switch for lights. it can be unplugged, just be careful with it. the front one is trickier. if I remember correctly has a wire that comes from a loom and goes to the headlight. as mentioned by someones previous post you may have to splice it when you put it back on. I took the mount for the headlight off and maked the position of it so the angle would be the same when I reinstalled it.

Hope this helps.
