There was a review of Red Wing boots in a magazine a couple of months ago, and how they worked well as bike boots and for walking around. Does anybody know which model they are, or which mag/month the article was in? Thanks.

Any Red Wing boot is top of the line. They have a line made in Japan by the name of WORX. I've heard a few complaints about them.

As for the true Red Wing line, I've got 3 pair right now and have had probably 12 pair since I started wearing them. They wear exceptionally well and are quite comfortable. I've wore the soles out and the uppers are still fine and sent them back to Red Wing and they resole as original and restretch the leather to look like new. You can't go wrong.

Ive got some RedWings...

I cannot remember the model, but they are black boots, no steel toe, made in USA, and do not have a hard rubber sole like most bike boots. The soles look black until you look closely and see that they are a soft rubber that is black inside, hence its look. They are quite comfy for walking around. Leather is good quality and they seem to hold up well-although I got them this summer I have ridden, worked, and walked in them a lot since then. Good boots.

I prefer Justin laceup style work boots. I've been wearing them for several years now and have yet to wear the soles out. I've replaced them about every 2 years because of worn uppers or chemical spills etc. but they are honestly the most comfortable boot I've ever worn......Don

i have a pair of the redwing engineer steel toe boots with the logger heal. these were bought in 1982 and were resoled one time a few years ago. i was thinking about getting a new pair not because they were wore out but because my feet got a little bigger a few years age and they fit kind of tight. my work has a safety shoe program and they will pay some toward new shoes every year.

Redwing has a line of motorcycle boots being introduced after the 1st of the year. Look very traditional. I am waiting untill then for my next pair. Check out you local store, they have a flyer with photos.

I also have to throw in my 2 cents of Red Wing's. I hade a pair of the Logger boots when I was in the Navy and they lasted my 3 years, and thats on the flight deck. By far the best boots made. Sorry I don't know the style you are looking for.
You might want to try www.shoestoboot.com , you could scroll through the boots and I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for

Red Wing Motorcycle Boots

Bought a month ago a pair of the Black Lace up 9" Red Wing Bike Boot (Looks like the boots I wore in the Marine Corp except waterproof and a dull finish). Very, very comfortable and a really nice sole. I have heard about Red Wings for years but never owned a pair. As all quality products are, they were expensive (i.e. about $180 I believe) but darn, I think I'll be a Red Wing guy the rest of my life...what the heck having I been thinking?

I have a set of Redwing Ropers that I've had since 1990. 14 years old for those of us too drunk to count. I had to use a calculator... Had I taken better care of them I'm sure they would be in good shape still but they have never been touched by anything but Kiwi polish and a few new soles and heels. They are just about done. My Justin Ropers are just 2 years old and are not holding up nearly as well. I'm getting a new set of Redwings very soon.

I walk mine (type 2233) for ~9 yrs now. Got them in Singapore for $80.
What always amazes me is the fact that when these boots get soaking wet that on the next morning they`re almost dry again.
Last month I played with the idea to get exact the same pair again....before they cease this production line and offering some femine girlie bs style (you never know)
1. You MUST visit the store so they can meassure your size (I can`t remember my redwingsize grrrr and one Seattle shop may sell em over the www...)
2.Only one joint in germany sells this type 2233. It´s some 4 hrs from here and that bastard is asking for $250

For what its worth. I have two pair of redwing, the first pair are 7 years old and feel as good as the day I bought them but need new soles. The second pair has the composite toe for safety and I HATE them. I have them for Hazmat work and put the zipper kit in. They wear badly against my little toe and I also had arch support issues. I used a pair of the half length gel inserts to fix the arch but toes still hurt. I use them to ride a good bit but tough on the feet after a long day. These are the ones that look like jump boots...overall I do like redwings and would recommend them without the hard toe

Friend of mine had a pair of boots with steel toes, hated 'em, put 'em in the closet for about 2 years. (I guess he didn't need them for work anymore). He finally called a shoe repair shop, asked if anything could be done about it. $10, he removed the steel toes, now he loves the darn things.
