Vietnam vet Ermey best known as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in "Full Metal Jacket," died Sunday morning, at 74.

"What is your major malfunction, numbnuts?"

Yeah, saw this first thing this morning. As tough as he was pneumonia got the best of him. RIP Marine! Semper Fi!

From what I hear, he was just an awesome all round dude. RIP.

Yep. Pretty cool old Marine. Good American, we need a lot more like him.

I met him at a pro 2nd amendment event a while back. He was already grousing about how difficult it was to be a conservative working in films.

ermey was superb in FMJ....he wasn't acting, he's the real deal.

"the D.I." is another classic, made in '57. jack webb starred in
it, produced and directed it as well.
