Hi, I'm just getting back into riding after not owning a bike for 7 years. Turned 50 this year and told my wife (of seven years) I would like to get a bike again, after some fond memories riding with her when we were dating. I told her I was considering a Harley. She said, "go ahead, get it!" Gents, I almost jumped up and down like a kid getting permission to go to the candy store--kinda pathetic! But get it I did! Came home from Walker's Cycle (Salem, OR) with a beautiful Gunmetal Pearl '03 FLSTCI a couple of weeks ago. I love the ride of the Heritage. Rougher ride than a King? That's exactly what I like about it--it reminds me I'm on a motorcycle!
Smooth, stable, great sounding, a real "looker," helps enjoy the ride instead of trying to hang on for dear life like my last bike! Just what I need to reduce, not induce, stress. Started riding in '65 on a Trail 90, then a Honda 160 and 50 (10th grade). Sold my '66 Mustang my poor dad saved for (graduation present) like an idiot and bought a 350. 25 years later got a '84 Nighthawk. Started looking at a Harley in '92 and patiently waited for 10 years to finally get it.
For a job, I fly for jetBlue Airways, as a pilot. Great job, great company, but I needed something to let go of the stress of the job and commuting. My bike helps calm me down. I like to play guitar, mandolin and write songs, shoot skeet and target guns, throw the ball around with my boy and garden with my wife.
Have only 200 miles on my bike but that will change soon with my upcoming days off! Plan to get the Stage I 95" kit, Power Commander IIIr with Vance and Hines Straightshots or Propipe HS's on the 1000mile.
I'm open to ideas on pipes or mods so feel free to e-mail me if you like. Looking forward to sharing ideas with you in the future. Take care and God bless...jetBlueman
