This winter, I am going to upgrade my 05 FLSTNI's chain Tensioner system to the roller chain setup. Bike is stock bore, K&N filter with Cycle Shack slip-ons. I haven't decided on bumping up to 95ci, but if I do, it will be later when I can afford it and I will probably do the heads at that time. Reason I am doing the roller chain is simple. At 50kmi, I have avoided the dreaded cam tensioner shoe issue but I am not going to push it either. I was going to put the Baisley spring in but decided, hey, go for the new pump instead. Typical ride about 70%Solo, mostly Highway 70 to 80 % of the time at avg speeds of 60 to 70 mph. Bike runs well, just looking for more punch when I hit the gas while rolling along. Am thinkng of the Andrews 21N or the 26N cam. Would like to hear from someone with a similar setup. Opinions welcome. Thanks.
If your upgrading your chain system why not just go with gear drive cams???? If your going to upgrade to the higher volume oil pump why not put the spring in also.It will just help stabilize the oil pressure more!!!!As for cams.I'm biased to Woods performance. His cams hit hard & put up big numbers!!!!!!!!!!!
