So I am going to go look at a black 01 SG with 34k for $6,000. It was more, but he came down. The radio was upgraded. It has a 2 into 1, an aftermarket seat(?) The rear is lowered 2" , but some 12's would fix that. Is that a good price? The bike is in good condition with 200 miles on the tires. Plus it is black.

I haven't gotten an answer on that yet. The bike is 3 hrs from me just a little north of Charlotte.

I gave $4500 for my '94 FLH 2 years ago.....$6G's is ok...of course less is best.....but seriously do ya really ride enough to buy a different bike? And I'm not talking to the Piggly Wiggly and back...I'm talkin RIDING.

I'm guessing he means an '01 Dyna Super Glide as there were no Street Glides in 2001 unless he means an Electra Glide that's been stripped... and then why buy less than what was offered originally and pay more than it's worth...

Thats why I have you guys. Obviously I don't know what I am looking at. My group down here is a softail, Dyna and wide glide club. I like Cwilks answer. He knows me well.

I just started this harley thing 6 years ago. Ask me about a Goldwing. I could tell you alot about those.

My father's last bike was a Goldwing. I think it was an Interstate model. He quit riding at the request of my mother when he was 68, maybe 1993. His memory was fading so it's probably a good thing he hung it up when he did. I've logged more miles on two wheels in my life than Dad but I hope I'm able to ride 8 more years. Just in case he's watchin' me.

An Interstate was better with a mechanical speedo. If it fell over it was so expensive to fix. I do miss the gear indicator, it was a fine rider.

I'm not so sure a fading memory and a bike wouldn't be a bad combination. Just think of the fun you could have and maintain plausible deniability.

Or I could tell about the time I dumped my wife in a large rosebush lol.

I just want some hard bags instead of the fugly leather ones. There is an old thread for everything here and I saw where one of the vendors had it all in one price. Norm sent me some links for real cruise control. These would be cheap fixes for the riding that I do.

Well, the hard bags are nice, they seal well and there's next to no upkeep compared to leather. I'm confused though - is this bike you're looking at a super Glide or something else?

From what I gather in a few posts is that it isn't a street glide, but a put together look a like. Besides it has mmi and that lets me out. My bike makes me happy enough. I read these threads of tours and it gives me the itch to go to.

Some say Cwilks is harsh in his posts, but he told it like it is.

The original Gold Wings of the 1970's were one of my original dream bikes. I'd still like to have one of those.

There is a guy here on FB has a primo 86 for 5k. Too much for old wing. He has one of those training wheel trike kits and won't sell it separate....yet.

Wow! Dyna values have plummeted.

All bike prices should have plummeted with the introduction of the M8. The new customers buy the experimental engine and test it for a few years so by say 2020 the bugs will be worked out.

It's an 04, curb feelers were introduced in 2012.... thought everyone new that.... :duh2:

I just want a pair of the leather boobie tassels what goes on the grips. Maybe a foot long to slap my elbows to keep me awake on that long journey to Walgreens. Have to get my monthly supply of methenamine.
