Is it a given that pushrods will contact tubes on a .630 lift cam.I don't want to grind tubes.Would rather go with tapered rods.If tapered pushrods are needed, what mfg's are some of the best?
Going into the chest for lifters,(travel limiters)oil pump,(sumping) and pushrods for any possible reduction in valve train noise.

If your pushrods are rubbing there will be a tell tale sign on them about mid way. FWIW, neither the S+S or smith's i have had in my motor with the 9b rubbed.

Travel limiters may not help any noise either but can create their own.
Lots of places in the rocker boxes to check and measure though!
Also, certain oils will help or hurt. Got an oil pressure spring or shim in there?

Should I use the travel limiters on the "B" lifters or leave them alone? It's been a long winter so far and have nothing but time to get ready for the warmer weather. My engine will see a lot of high RPM duty.Obviously don't want to add noise to the valve train if I don't have to.I only have about 125 miles on break in so far and haven't put it through the paces yet.Just would like to address the areas needed now and spend more time riding than wrenching when it comes time to have fun.Initially seemed to clack between 2500 to about 3800 while using straight 50wt.
I read where the short duration on high lift Wood cams and installed travel limiters created more noise.Anyone have the same results?
