you have differnet options these days
couple of lowering kits that you can decide how low to go (up to 2")
air suspension that you can lift and lower as you see fit

and then there are your riding habits.... how often do you ride two up ?
How aggressive do you ride ?
The conditions of your local riding roads ?

I had my Heritage dropped a full 2" for two years and finally brought it up
a bit....was getting a little tired of bottoming out every time my wife was out with me

Progressive Airtail here too:

I like the dropped ride solo and around town, but wanted to be able to kick it back up on the fly when heading into the mountains or twisties.
