I have a question about proper engine warm up. The plant where I work is only a couple of tenths of a mile from the interstate. Whenever I start my bike "cold", I always let it run until I feel some good heat in the cylinder fins, usually a minute or so, then I ride it easy until I hit the freeway on ramp. Now you know when you start mixing it up on the freeway, you usually must get with the program or get run over. I don't tach it up running through the gears on the ramp, but I do try to hit 60-70 to merge into traffic. Am I doing damage to my engine with this short of a warm up time?

About the same as my warm up. I fire up, put my suit on (already at my waist), put on the helmet, take off. The freeway is about a quarter mile. I go easy on the on ramp, I try to take it easy for a few miles.

I wouldn't worry.
