I just bought a Craftsman motorcycle jack. It comes with the tie downs, etc. I have an '02 FLSTF and am very nervous about jacking it up. Anyone know where exactly on the frame to jack it up? Where should I tie it down across the bike? As you can tell, I've never done this before!

Thanks in advance

Actually it is stable without the tie downs, but if you have them you might as well use them until you feel better about the jack.
Lift it on the frame between the motor, just make sure your not lifting up the motor sump, it will be fine.

Ps,
Make sure the kickstand is extended when you bring it down!!
In fact, have someone help you hold it when coming down until you get the hang of it.

make sure you are just forward of the shocks...the are slightly below the frame and you don't want to lift against the shocks

You can purchase frame protectors from your friendly dealer or make some for yourself. But on the softails, the frame protector adds the extra height to keep the jack from resting on the shocks.
Happy wrenching.
