Ok I have just recived my order for my 95 build.
I open the boxes and have found that I now have a set of
S/E Hi comp pistons instead of the flat tops I thought I
had ordered. Problem is I have an 02 bagger and have been running
the andrews 26g cam and have been told that the came wont work well
becouse of a compression issue.

So I called a friend at a local HD dealer and he told me to run it.
He told me put the pistons in and injoy the ride.

So what gives. Do I put them in and hope for the best, Or get the
flat tops and hold the Hi C, for another build.

Help:unsure:

I'd be scared of that too. With a stock head gasket and figuring stock 83cc chambers you'll be at 10:1 compression and approx 193 ccp. I think that would probably be a pinger unless you're at a high altitude. If your head chambers are larger at say 87cc you may be okay, 9.6:1 compression at 183ccp, still on the high side for this cam but probably doable. You're probably better off with flat tops IMHO.

I would also fire your mechanic, and tell him to enjoy the ride himself.
I called Andrews myself back when I was shopping for grinds, and their own staff told me to not go above stock compressions because the 26 has an early exhaust valve close and it makes some serious compression with just stock or flat top pistons. Major pinging could result with anything more than 9.0 to 1. Get the flat tops and be safe.

Well I went to the steeler today and picked up a set of flat tops.
I feel this was a good thing to do. I didnt want to try and screw with
the bike and (run it) as my friend said.

I have posted many questions on this site and have always come out the better with the info I recive from all of you. I just wanted to say thanks
again for the help.

If any one needs a set of 1550 pistons, Make me an offer.
I won't need them any time soon. And I dont want them sitting in my
shop. You can email me at "[email protected]"

The part #22868-00 New in box.

Thanks again.

Well I have a winner on the pistons if he emails me back. And the bike
runs great with the flate tops. I just closed it all up last night and took it for a quick ride and no leaks, no noise and all runs great.
After a few more short runs it should be good to go.

Then its Daytona bound.......~!Awesome! ~!Awesome! ~!Awesome!
