Hi guys,

My dads got a 03 (maybe 02) Roadstar Silverado, and I was wondering if anyone had installed a powercommander on one of these...
There's no listing for this bike on Dynojet site, but the Roadstar warrior is the same engine, and is listed. It's all the XV(or whatever) 1600..
Anyone tried or have any clue???
He's getting a set or HardKrome drag slipon's so I thought it might be a cheap bit of tuning insurance.

My 2001 silverado had a carb which means you have to rejet.My 2002 warrior had fuel injection and I put a pc111 on it.It was alot of fun to back up to the kitchen window,roll a usb cable out,plug my bike in and remap.
FWIW,If he really wants to wake that puppy up,he could get vance and hines 2-1 pipes and a big air kit.When I put the 2into1 on my roadstar it felt like a 10 horsepower gain.

Yours being carb I guess doesn't apply in my situation.. This one is FI, and since you had one on your warrior, this is the reason I'm asking..
It's the same engine, seems to me that it should work the same on either bike.

Silverado Road Star is not FI.

No model of the Road Star has ever had Fuel Injection. The new Liners are FI but not the RS.

Or he could just rejet for about 50 bucks there is a few diff choices of manufacturers of those kits.

The best way is to do it all at once though and the BAK breathes really well.

This is the cheapest place to order anything for the Roadstar and they have the best service. The carry Barons parts too!

Well it sounds unanimous, so I'll have to take your word for it, but he's pretty convinced it's FI... I don't know anything about them myself.

This is from the STAR (Yamaha) website, specs on the 2006 Road Star. No FI is shown as an option. If the 2006 doesn't have it an 2002/03 wouldn't either. If he has a choke or petcock for fuel cutoff it is a carb not FI. If you know what a HD carb looks like, you should be able to tell that it is a carb hanging behind that air filter.

A ported maniforld and a better air intake will also help. The Road Star Riders forum is a great forum and you can learn how to do most anything to a Road Star. Several mechanics post there and will help you with any problem. Give it a try, it'll only hurt for a little while.
