On the thrust sides the are scuff marks with some very fine scratchs you can just fell with your finger nail, Is there any way to clean these up?
and would you use them in a build? these are forged pistons, do they have a
clear coat on them? how about using some very fine wet & dry Sand paper to clean them up a bit?

the pistons had done only a few hours running, i picked them up second hand to try and save a few bucks, could you apply a HP coating on them?
any opinions??

You could most likely use some 1200 or 1500 grit emery or crokus cloth to wet sand (blend) the imperfections.
Be sure to measure the skirts after you clean 'em up to make sure they arwe not out of spec.
