Pet Carrier For Ultra

8507 Views 12 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  thunderbirdblue
I have an Ultra Classic Electra Glide and would like to take my 20 lb Lhasa Apso touring with me. Has anyone used a T-Bag pet carrier on a Classic or Ultra Classic? If so, how do you hook it up? Any other soft bags out there that lets the dog stick his head out?

Best ones I have seen put the pet on a trailer...
this one is a backpack for smaller dogs. this dog weighs 18lbs. if your interested in the brand let me know, I'll have to ask the Mrs. . I had some funny looks when riding with this dog on my back.

again it's a backpack if that will work for you. she didn't remember the info on it so I went and looked at it. it's made by, global pet products. I did a google search and found it for $90. here's the link. I would search online there may be a better price out there. unfortunately now everyone knows I rode around with a dog on my bike.

here's a site that has it for $80 http://www.coolstuffcheap.com/large-black-pet-wheel-away-soft-sided-wheeled-carrier.html

here's a site with them for $73, it's the large one when you order it. http://www.rescuepetstore.com/Merch...Code=GPP200&Category_Code=DCC&Product_Count=2
Hey Brownie, how does that dog like those goggles? Do they bother him? He looks pretty calm....
Does it come with a leash so the dog doesn't jump out... If the window is down in the car.... Buddy hits the road.... Runs around for a few minutes and comes back to me... I'd hate to see him do that off the bike...

I'd rather have something that tethers to the bike, but I'm not sure I can find one that will fit the Ultra...

The T-Bag is designed for sissy bars... I don't know if the carry straps are good enough to hold it in place on the Ultra...

I have a luggage bar on top my tour pack... I could tether it to that if the pack straps are strong enough... On the bottom side I can tether it to the passenger hand rails...

Bud is so tall I'm not sure he will fit in the T-Bag so I am going to take him to the shop listed in my first post and take a good look at the T-Bag... If he fits and the bag looks like it will work on the Ultra, I will then ride my bike over there and see if it fits the bike...

BTW... are those biker goggles?

Thanks for the info...

It has a short leash inside it that you connect to the dogs collar. it's alot like a small piece of luggage, has a plastic back and bottom on wheels. the googles are called doggles. the dog was relaxed wearing them knowing it was going for a ride with us. surprised the hell out of me, but if she can go with us she trusts us completely. when we stopped back home she wanted the googles off imediately when she got out of the carrier and rubbed her face on the grass for a few mintues. I parked on the driveway so the wife could take a photo, I was laughing most of the ride we went on a 50 mile ride. went on the expressway for about 3 miles and she didn't like the wind. thought of making hard sides for it to cut the wind down on a long trip.
Found Doggles at Pet Smart for $19.99 and Wheel-Away for $69.99 for 15 lb dogs... They don't list the one for dogs up to 30 lbs...

Petco has the Wheel-Away for pets up to 30 lbs for $69.99

I'm taking Bud over there and see what he thinks...

Here's ANother Alternative

Have you checked out the BeastRiders?:

http://www.beastriders.com/
Thanks for the info... Since Beastriders is $550-$630... They are too expensive for my blood...

I could convert my tour pack lid for a lot cheaper than that... I just checked with my local Harley Dealer... He has a used lid in good condition for $75... all I would have to do is cut a hole in it for Buddy's head, put some padding around the edge and install a short leash on the inside... Anyone seen that?
