Old Man Comes Home

Well, my first bike was a new 1965 BSA Lightning Rocket, which ought to pretty much date me. Went through a few other bikes, and in 1984 bought a new Low Rider, which I kept for a few years. Moved on to BMW's and back to Triumphs.

Finally, though, had to come home. Bought a spanking new Heritage Softail Classic, fire red pearl and black, last week. Taking delivery on the last day of the year, next Saturday, if it isn't raining. Just looking at it on the showroom floor peeled about 30 years off me.

Have an old jacket with a HOG patch on it, with a "1984" rocker. Jacket doesn't fit anymore (can't imagine it ever did!), so I'm going to have a tailor switch it to my current jacket.

See you guys on the road.

Welcome back, glad to see you back on a Harley. I owned a new 65 Triumph Trident (3 cyl), and a bud had a BSA Rocket 3, so I know about that time period.

Glad to see someone spells their first name the same way I do. :woohoo:

Wow, Phillip... what a great story! My dad had a BSA Lightning Rocket. It was one fine machine, one that I wish was parked next to my 2005 Softail Springer Classic. That BSA was awesome and I remember it like it was yesterday.

We're glad you have joined us here! You are among friends. Post often and ride that new Hog with great joy... I'm sure you will!

Welcome to the forum of Motorcycles and people who love them. A forum of aristocratic cyclists who know and understand the legend of American thunder.

Post up and have a ball.
:welcome: to the forum. Congrats on the new Heritage!! Lots of great info here. Post up often and enjoy.
Welcome to the forum. I bought a Heritage 2 years ago and couldn't be happier (unless I had a Street Glide too.) Post up and enjoy.
