So the Harley maintenance manual that I have says to use the same grade oil in the tranny as the engine. It also says to use Harley Davidson oil, grade 105 (for use in temperatures over 90’ F, I live in Savannah, Ga) in the engine. My question is does anyone out there do this still? What do y’all run in your engine and tranny? Thanks for the help and keep it in the wind.

In my shovel I ran 85w-140 synthetic trans lubricant. Always have in all my bikes.

I run motor oil in the engine, trans oil or gear oil in the trans and sealed up my primary and use 8oz. Of ATF in that... I for one cant run motor oil in a transmission because they both have their own requirements for lubrication... Everyone has their own opinions and oils they use...

I ran 60wt in my Electra Glide 1980, 80, 70-90 degree ambient Temp.
First year of Electronic ignition, I didn't like it so Pulled it out and put Chevy 6 cylinder points and condenser in.
That Shake and Bake, Trouble head was a blast, loved that pogo seat, I should of kept her.
