You know, until you asked, I was thinking of the cold air cover. I don't do chrome, but now I also see that the OP is in Socal.Are you refering to a chrome cover or a vinyl cover to place over the fins for cold weather riding?
A thermostat or cover must be used when the ambient temps are below 60 degrees. Otherwise the oil never reaches proper operating temp.Do you really need a cover? Wouldn't that impede the cooling process???? Air is meant to go over fins to cool the oil!!! If you place a cover over it you impede air flow over the fins??????
