Had a dream job dumped in my lap I could not pass up but its 45 miles from the house and since gas is now too expensive I will be riding when it does not rain,I only rode about 900 miles last year and passed that up so far in the last few weeks. It needed tires and the forks serviced so that is the reason I did not ride that much but got it all done around march so time to ride to work,I need to find a gas miser car before it gets cold.

Better do some calculating before buying a gas miser car. The cost of buying another vehicle, maintenance and wear may not be enough to save money in the long run.

The was gas is going, any cage getting more than 40mpg is going to be in high demand.

Neighbor of mine has a 50 mile commute, and was doing it in a Escalade. Now the Caddy sits in the driveway and he's running his 25 year old Camery back and fourth.

The price of gas is ridiculous but look on the bright side - it has to come down sooner or later - or is that just being optimistic?

You could go with an EV :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Watching oncoming traffic I noticed that each vehicle has one person in it. A long line of cars heading towards Nakina after 5. Since no one is car pooling I'd say gas isn't too expensive yet.

That takes us to the issue of high inflation. If inflation keep running at close to 10%, the price at the pump wont come down. As the price of oil comes down, the reduced purchasing power of your dollars will cause the price at the pump to hold steady. With inflation running at 8% a month, that will double the price of any goods subject to the 8%, in a year. So gas that was $2.50 in January would increase 8% every month. And the price would compound as it rises. The next January that same gallon of gas will cost over $5.00.

My wife commutes 70 miles a day, three days a week. She drives by herself. But then she drives a Prius C. Less than 2 gallons to make that trip. And its all big slab. We live less than a mile from the highway and her job is about 1/2 a mile from the highway.

I know of 2 couples living here in the country have moved close to town near their workplace. People use to live within walking distance of their jobs might do so again.

Advantages of having a younger wife??
My wife is younger than me, but doesn't have time for a paying job between baby sitting grandkids and chauffeuring her mom around to the casino and drs.

I filled my truck up today for the first time in a month. I've been riding my bike every day. Gas went down to $5.02 so I thought I should take advantage.

Gas here has gone up again - now it's $4.99 a gal. I stopped looking at the price, had enough heart attacks to last me a life time :)
