I just took my 2008 nightster to a dealer because the back brake lights were stuck on. He asked me if I changed the grips or bars lately and I did. He said when ever you have the switch housing apart, you need a special tool to hold some kind of sensor in or it breaks and it is 100$ to replace it??? Does this sound even vaguely familiar to anyone?

Thanks

There is a brake like switch ins the hand controls. If not careful you can break it pretty easy when changing the grips. You dont need a tool, but need to be careful. To replace you have to splice a new switch(2 wires) in the harness.
