Are you serious? This isn't why I bought my Night Train.
Top speed (I've done): 80, maybe 83
1/4 mile: I'm thinking I can get there soon enough
0-60 mph: less than a minute (if I need to)

If you want a speed demon, get a different bike, not a stock Harley

Install a 103 kits, lower the bike 2 inches, slap on the BIG rear tire (need the conversion kit for this), unless you buying a 06 Train, which came with factory frame to acomodat BIG rear tire . Now, you can pop the wheelie on this baby on second gears and go from 0-60 in blink of an eye, then, you can have your life insurance sign over to me.

If you want speed from a harley buy a VROD not a Night Train. If you want tradition with the harley sound buy a Night Train. 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile times just are not the Night Trains strong suit:duh?:

Check the back of Cycle World magazine for the Road Test section. It should have the stats you want.

Well, a black Night Train would be faster than a silver Standard. Since as most people know, black is the faster color. :sofa:

That's very true. Spokes make you go faster too... something about how they create a vortex that lessens wind resistance...

You all have it wrong. The Softail Standad will kill the nightrain in the quarter mile. The nightrain was not built for speed as compared to the SS. Think back to the old muscle cars of the '70. How did they get huge power over someone else's car... crome rear differential. You gotta have some crome if you want to add H.P. And the last time I checked the SS has more so it has to have more power. DUH.

Yeah, the Softail Standard is quicker with all that chrome... The wrinkle black finish on the Night Trains causes alot of drag/wind resistance, slowing it down a ton...

do not hit the nawwzz button---------it will cause you to time warp.

A 103"conversion with the 150 Metzler will do the same

Or buy the traditional looks and make it run.

Take your stock engine and give it to your brother-in-law. Then install this:

Approximately 165 to 170 HP.

Top end should approach 160+, 1/4 times in the 10's, and 0-60 in the 2.6 sec range.

Tell the folks at Patrick Racing that Heliman sent you! :D

Comparing the numbers from MCN and an old Cycle magazine, it doesn't look like the Super Glide is any faster now than it was 30 years ago.
