Hello everyone! I'm looking for a little advice on slip ons. I will pick up my 2000 FLHRI on Friday. It still has the stock mufflers and I will be in need of something with more sound and performance. I don't want it too loud though, I just want some more "meat" to it. I'm also concerned with the posibility of discoloration of the pipes. I've really been pleased with the Vance & Hines I've had on my Honda for the last year and half, so I was sort of leaning their way. Any advice for the rookie?

Welcome gbag. You will get a lot of good advice and reccomendations in here. I have a 2002 firefighter special edition flhri and I installed the sampson slip ons with a tapered cut. I love the louder throatier sound over the stock wheezers. Here is a pic of the pipes from the samson site. I think the part # is M-142

Good luck

Gbag,

"Wild Pigs" I have them on my 02 FLHRI Firefighter Special and love them! The price I loved even more, they are made in Florida and sold by Millers Cycle shop:

I ride with good friend who likes the look and sound of mine so much, he is putting them on his 02 RK SE. I can't give you numbers, but I can tell you she runs great with the recalibrated EFI and SE A/C, the best part is the sound, nice and loud.

Here are some pics of them on my bike.

I am currently running the SE Slip ons. They sound and perform great. This is a SE Stage 2 bike.

I also ran the V&H on my previous Y2KFLHRCI set up being Stage 1. They sounded ok at best but performed great.

Here are the SE's.

Jimmy,
Great looking ride! That color is beautiful, I am kinda partial to it though, growing up as a kid, my Dad's cars were all that Burgundy or Maroon (not sure the term back then), I especially enjoyed the 76 Pontiac Catilina he bought with a 454, that he let me drive to school my senior year:)
