I' just bought a 2003 HD XLH 883 last week. Love it. Would like to have a bigger classic Harley sound but don't want it so loud I disturb a neighborhood. I want everybody to say "Damn that's a cool bike!", not "Damn that's a LOUD bike". How much do I have to do? Are the HD upgrade pipes gonna do it? How about the Screamin' Eagle pipes that look like stock pipes? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have Cycle Shack slip-ons' on my 02 883 XLH and they sound great. You can't beat them for only $110.00.

Ditto on the Cycle Shacks. Got mine from Krooners for $85 and love them.

Another vote for the CS slip ons. Can't beat 'em for the price. Louder than stock, but not "drag pipe" loud.

I appreciate all the comments. Haven't heard the Cycle Shack slip-ons. How do they compare in sound to Screamin' Eagle II's? (I've heard them).

I'm happy with the SE II's. I have a 2003 also and did the Stage I set-up. If you just purchased the bike use your 15% gimmick. I believe the pipes were around $168.
