I was just wondering how the new 1200Customs are.My Sportster
was a 1973 XLCH (AMF sorry to say)But, even being an AMFer it wasn't
that bad.

In a word, enjoyable. Lisa had a 2002 1200 XLC. Enjoyed it a lot. Just couldn't afford to keep it when she purchased her new FXDL.

I'm glad you were able to hold on to your bike.

Be aware that the stock 1200 XLC does have a serious vibration problem in the long stem mirrors. And some folks are troubled by the drag bars. The bars look great, but make a longer ride a bit of a task. You will still have fun, even if you keep the bike stock.

agree with pasadenajim on both issues. Drag bars look real nice, but on long rides they suck, thats one of the things I will change after putting my new tank on, leaning towards some type of AH's. The mirrors vibrate real bad, I replaced them with short stem hd tear drops, they dont vibrate as much, but because of the drag bars all I can see out of them is my arms, but it least they look good and meet the law requirments
