Has anyone out there put longer pullback bars on their FLHT? If so, Is there a relatively painless way of doing this? Will I need to replace clutch and throttle cables? What's a good handlebar manufacturer?

Am I asking too many questions?

Thanks!

You will need to replace your existing cables. The pullbacks that HD offers come with the clutch cable, so all you will need are the throttle cables. Look at this. Too many questions? No way!

I'm sure there are other kits available, but this is all I know of. Let me know if you find something else.

Yes, it is a pain in the ass, but well worth it. The clutch cable is the biggest pain, the exhaust might have to come loose or at least loosen the heat shields to remove the housing where the cable goes in to the tranny.

fastlane304, I read an interesting article in Hot Bike yesterday. Don't remember if it was the Oct./Sept. issue, but it was on ergonomics. You may want to take a look at it before you change the bars. Depending on your height, changing the position of the bars may have a negative effect on you (sore back, shoulders, etc.). On the other hand, the new bars may just be what you need for a comfortable ride. Either way, let us know how it turns out.

If you can't get your hands on the article, let me know and I will email it to you.
