I have a 2005 883. I have not done a thing to it but Im getting ready to get some LSR 2-1 pipes. It follows that I would get a new air filter and do some jet work. My question(s): At the time I install pipes will I be able to run without doing any jet work? Or will the change degrade performance? Also, can I install a needle jet without having to remove the carb? I have read my service manual and it looks like I could possibly swap needles, and get by, simply (cough) by removing the top cover of the carb and the diaphram and a spring assembly underneath. I would like to do this my self and I have the ability. I would like to know what I need to do before I start pulling stuff out. Are there any resources available to read? Or, will I have to remove the carb to access the adjustment (air/fuel) on the bottom?
