I have a stripped shifter shaft on my 93 low rider.Is there anything I can do short of replacing the shaft?

Bummer.
You could try to wrap a piece of sand paper around the spline and put the shifter over that, isn't all that easy but I've done it before. May get you thru the season, but you will need to replace it.

Try putting the shift lever back on the shaft then drill through the level and shaft, Now run a bolt, washers and locking nut to secure everything. The lever will be solidly mounted on the shaft and when you are ready to replace the shaft it will remove easily.
