Can anybody give me their thoughts on a Softail Springer versus a Dyna Low rider for distance comfort. I currrently ride a Sporster and while I love it, trips over 100 miles leave alittle to be desired. Electa-Glides are alittle too much for my tastes and riding habits, but an occasion trip of some distance (200 to 300 mi. ) would expand my horizons and the Sportster won't do. I was looking a Deuce but after reading some of the comments in the Softail Forum , I'm rethinking that one. Any help here would be great . Thanks

Good question, Popeye. Here's how I see it:

Dynas - A little lower and wider and heavier, but suspension-wise not a huge leap from a Sportster. Two spring-over shocks in the tail don't make for decent riding for long distances like a softail. There are aftermarket shocks and seats that will definitely bring any Dyna up to the comfort levels of a softy though, if you are willing to research them. In the end you will have a decent bike with looks and that lowriding feel you like and your butt will thank you.
