Hello All,
My 2002 FLHR got to the dealership on the 30th of Sept. It will be ready and picked up on Monday the 7th. Sucks I have to have a friend pick it up and my Mom will be the first to see it.
Well, I told her to take lots of pictures, so I can drool for five months. Paying for something you can't use sucks. If all goes well with getting married in Germany, I'll be home in 181 days and a duffle drag or a wakeup. Look forward to getting back to the USA. Take care and ride some for me!! J.T.

Congratulations. but very sorry to tell ya. When U become a 2 digit midget, time will slow to half its present rate. Then once your on the inactive list, time will increase to warp speed and the years fly by. Playing cowboys and Indians use to be so much fun.

I agree, dump the poser part of your tagline. But I strongly disagree with changing it to Harley Owner. It is not about ownership, as if anyone with the bucks would understand.

You own a Harley to ride. Note in this sentence that "ride" is ruled a noun while the term "own" is ruled a verb. Let's look at the verb first shall we?

A word that characteristically is the grammatical center of a predicate and expresses an act, occurrence, or mode of being, that in various languages is inflected for agreement with the subject, for tense, for voice, for mood, or for aspect, and that typically has rather full descriptive meaning and characterizing quality but is sometimes nearly devoid of these especially when used as an auxiliary or linking verb.

So while the verb "own" is cool and does add to, through agreement with the subject ( noun "ride" ) for tense towards mood, it still is not the subject ( noun to "ride" ) and therefore not the "meat" of the damn point in getting a fuckin bike.

Ooooops.

Thanks to all who have reponded. No.....my a$$ will be the only one in the operator's position. Yep, I am getting insurance on it tomorrow before it is delivered to the house. Like a good dog, she'll be waiting for me when I get home.(I can afford a new battery, if need be) I got a 2002. I purchased through military new car sales, as many on the board know, and they only had one of the four styles at which I was looking. She's a two tone red/black, carb.ed, alarm system, laced wheels, and a four yr. warranty.
Already making plans to upgrade to the StageI. Been trying to pick at some brains to decide which slipons to go with. Got the AC picked out. I'll probably do the conversion at the 500 or 1000 mi. service. I really hate to ride with the stock set up, but the conversion will seem that much sweeter.(How bad can the stock exhaust sound?)
Thanks for the encouragement. The next few months are going to be busy. After delivery, I have to stay focused on ETSing and getting married. That should help with the New Harley D.T.s.

Sorry, "ride" is a verb in the above sentence. There is no noun after "to", it is implied. The correct sentence would be:

You own a Harley to ride it.
