I would like to hear comments from anyone who has installed one these kits that includes the HSR42 carb, a cam and ignition upgrade. I have a 1994 FLHTC that needs a little more power. Thanks.

Pass A Truck?

It's a good kit, over priced. You can do the same thing and better. Mukuni developed it as a marketing tool to sell carbs, that's their business. It didn't sell as well as they had planned because most people have already changed to different air filters, ignitions, carbs, etc. so if you were to buy the kit you would be getting somethings you already had. The ignition is good but the newer ones out now are better, get a programable one. The cam in the kit is very close to the Andrew EV-13, wicked torquer cam for a bagger. The push rods are not needed, they are not the easy, quick install type, they are just adjustable, you can use the stock push rods with that cam. The gaskets in that kit are very good, james gaskets. The bearing is a Torrington B-138 bearing, the best. The carb is a Mukuni HSR42, good carb, does't make anymore horsepower than the CV carb that has been jetted properly but has a crisper throttle response were as the CV is more of a progressive feeling throttle.
