For the last 10 or so years, a guy out of San Diego, referred to as "El Jefe", has lead a series of rides into Mexico, often times to Ensenada and sometimes to his bar just south of Rosarita Beach. "El Jefe" has another adventure planned this Feb. 8-10th. Meet at San Diego H/D at 10 a.m. on Friday & Saturday and ride an escorted ride into Mexico. Lobster! Margaritas! Music! Life is good.... Oh, there are some folks over at the RMH newsgroup that may be meeting down that way for a pre-Mardi Gras get together, too. And Oceanside HOG is sponsoring a run on the 10th. Dang, too much FUN!!!!

If you're interested in ridin' down that way for one or more of those adventures, let me know. Lisa and I are ridin' down. Maybe we can connect. And if ya' haven't taken your bike into Mexico, this may be your chance.

Rooms in San Diego (for the pre-ride party) and Ensenda, MX (for the biker portion of the event) are rapidly filling up. If you plan to go, you should make your reservations now.

Went out and purchased an ample supply of Mardi Gras beads yesterday. You do know how girls get all those beads during Mardi Gras, don't ya?:D I wanted to have plenty.

The ride official leaves San Diego H/D at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 9th. Lobster at El Jefe Bar & Grille at noon. For info on Saturday/Sunday activities, call 619/220-2828. For info on pre-Ride party on Friday night near San Diego, drop me a private e-mail.

Lisa and I are going down Friday afternoon, and coming back on Sunday p.m. This is a "rain or shine" event. Since I don't care to take my bike into Mexico when it rains (been there, done that!), I'll be takin' the truck if the weather is bad. But it's a lot more fun to experience this adventure on a bike! Hope to see some of you there.

Memorable experience! Lobster on the way. A must! Quite a parade and lots of bikes and girls interested in earning beads. My girl Leece said "no pics" on the Internet. She said it'd come back and bite me. Well, maybe she's right. The event is an annual affair. El Jefe sponsors a number of rides out of San Diego, the next is a bike blessing in mid-March. In early May is an anniversary party celebrating the anniversary of his bar south of Rosaritia. And of course, there is the Summer Festival in July. (Unfortunately, the Summer Festival often conflicts with the Beach Ride up this way. The Beach Ride is one of the largest one day rides in the Country and draws away from the Summer Festival. Will post more on that later.)
