Excellent post. Correct me if I'm wrong here, the 13" shocks are the stock shocks on the touring bikes? The 12" are the low profile the same one's that come on the FLHX.
Having a FLHX and thinking about going to the air suspenison I'm wondering if doing what you did will help the ride of he 12" shocks. The only real complaint I have is on the highway and go across a bridge mine bottoms out riding solo. If I can remove some fluid to improve that I'd be a happy camper.
I had been riding with less than 10# of air and a guy told me to pump them up to at least 20# and it would help and sure enough it did but it still leaves a lo to be desired.
