anyone ever lower their ultra? what did you use? i see kits on e bay but i hear they screw up the handling, on the other hand harley has other shocks (for only 255 bux)that will lower it only 3/4 of an inch. was hoping for 2 inches. any help would be appreciated thanks

You should check out Progressive.

Lowering does not affect handling. Or should I say , it has never affected any of my bikes. I lowered every Harley I have owned. I used LA choppers kit for 1"

Short shocks should work, they come standard on Street Glides. Ask your local dealer about them. I thought they were a 2" drop, but I could be mistaken.

Which shocks are you referring to? 3/4 inch would be perfect for me.

the dealership told me they were the same shocks as the street glide he said they were 3/4 lower

The shocks on the Ultra are different than the shocks on the SG. The ones on the SG are two inches shorter than the Ultra.

Do your homework. It's my understanding that the SG shocks are ONE inch shorter. Yes, I have a street glide. IMO, the SG shocks are c**p. If I were you, I'd look into progressive and ohlin.
