I want to lower the swing arm of my springer softtail.
It just looks too high stock.
Anyone else done that?
Any problems?

Lowered my NT after I first got it. No problems, you have to remove the shocks from the bike and the uses of a press, takes a little time but well worth it. Just remember to put your supports under the shocks can and not under the shocks eye to remove the retainer clip on the press. Good Luck.

Arlen Ness makes a nice kit like a $150 or so lowers the front and rear but this kitt doesn't fit the springer front end but it is still a good deal because it has a kick stand with it and the bolts to lower the rear.

I just had my 04 Fatboy lowered front and rear.
Shop charged me 2 hours labor on the rear end.
I had already purchased the HD lowering kit previously.
Just like the previous post said.
Remove rear shocks, rebuilt by replacing shock shaft
(HD Kit was longer shafts, you need the press to do this.)

Had it lowered to the point that the top edge of the rim is
about 1 inch below the flat spot on the rear fender.
Rides a little rougher, looks a much better.
But watch for scraping the boards when taking turns....

BTW- I found out, the Delux already has these shafts on their rear shocks.
So don't be fooled and think you must also lower the front when you lower the rear. The Delux has a std (not lowered/shorter) spring in their tubes..

2 hours - OUCH! My dealer charges 1/2 hour ($35.00) if you take the shocks off yourself and bring them in or 1 hour ($70.00) for them to do it all. I figured for $35 more no sense in even get my hands dirty.
