Well I think I decided to do it!!!!

I am going to lower the lowrider 1 inch. I guess I'll use progressive 412 shocks to do the deed.

My question is this. I measued eye-eye and came up with a 12 inch shock as stock. Does this seem correct?? :dunno: I do not want to purchase the shocks until I'l sure I did it right.

I'd love to hear from other lowrider owners who lowered the rear end.

Thanks in advance!!!

12" is standard on the Low Rider, 12 5/8" on the Wide Glide. I just ordered a set of 412's from Jirehcycles last night for my WG, $169.99 with free shipping...best price I could find.
#116-106 would be the 11", standard spring, chrome for your FXDL.

Well I've got the shocks installed. :woohoo: Clearance looks good except with the fender and the upper belt guard.

I looked at the shocks and they do not appear to have that much travel.

Does anyone know what the travel of these shocks is?? :thanks:

Lowering 2005 Dyna Lowrider

My wife has the Lowrider and she is only about 5' 1".
I ordered the Progressive Suspension 418 (standard duty), 11.5 inch for rear, and the lowering springs for the front (1 inch). This lowered the bike evenly front and rear. Plus the ride feels more damped (controlled). We tried 412 heavy duty (11.0"), but the bike sat too low in the rear and the stock front end seemed to become more bouncy. The wife now can reach the ground and says it feels like it is smoother riding.

The 11.5 inch shock lowers the fender one inch.

418 Standard 11.5" : 418-4837B/C
Lowering Kit Part # : 10-1560

Good luck.
