I installed LED blinker lights on my bike on all 4 corners. I know the LED's are a lower current which is why my blinkers now blink faster (and are a little dimmer), but any idea why this is keeping my security light on? It used to be, I'd turn the security off, start the bike and the little key light would go out. Now it stays on after starting.

There is an add on that Kuryakyan sell to address this issue when using their LED lighte. I'd assume that it is a resistor of some sort. It should help with your setup. It is their part number '4857' call a 'alarm compatible load equalizer' and lists for $29.95.

My girlfriend has a 2004 sporty 1200c and she also had the LED lights from Kuryakan (or however you spell it). Her security light also came on and would stay on after she used a turn signal... (I think the book states it is a "current indicator" or "current flow indicator" problem). The dealer tried to get them working this winter and could not. They tried a new load balancer from Badlander and it did not make a difference. They have since stopped selling the lights because of all the problems they had with them (I guess a lot of customers have had trouble with LED lights - in general). They gave her a credit since she had problems with the lights since she picked up the bike. The installed the standard lights.

FYI - what made me notice the problem with her lights is her front lights would strobe/blank randomly... she looked like a police escort. I don't think she had any problems with the back lights.

Kuryakyn load balancers are not of the highest quality - my girlfriend had mountains of various electrical problems on her sporty until she had it swapped out for another brand.

This is one product I wouldn't trust from Kuryakyn.

I didn't buy the kuryakyn units. I just bought after market LED bulbs from a local shop.

If they start causing other problems, I'll take them off. Right now I think it's more of an annoyance than a real issue.

I was referring to a load balancer - not the bulbs

Do you have ANY load balancer installed since the LED's?

If not - install one. Not positive this will fix your problem but you probably should be running one anyway with LED's

nigit, I know you don't have the Kuryakyn stuff, but when I got their run/turn/brake module, it came with the 4857 equalizer. The instructions said if, after installing the module, the security indicator came on, use the equalizer to fix it. The security system is tied into the TSSM, so changes to the turn signals can affect it. I'd bet an equalizer would fix both the security indicator and the fast flash problems.
