Tom, you got the best jacket made. The company story is great isn't it?

I got my package yesterday in the mail with my new jacket and pants!

Two years ago I bought my first Langlitz jacket and like you after lots of debate I was convinced to order the goathide. But these last two years I just did not like it at all. The contruction and design however are top notch. There is no better! It's just I ride a lot of miles everyday and don't use a windsheild. I may have measured mine too large also.
I kept in touch with Dave at Langlitz telling him of my flapping collars, the back flapping in the wind and the elbows bunching up on me. Others may not be bothered by this or not have the problems. He recommned I send it back and he make me a new one. I didn't like this cause it was my mistake in selecting the goathide rather than cowhide. Well this year I was driving up to the Seattle area and stopped in the shop to discuss with him what I could do about the collars slapping me in the chin on the road.
He took my jacket (two years old now) and pulled out a new order form and started measuring me for a new coat.
I got medium cowhide and while it is very stiff and is going to require some breakin period I just love it. It's also smaller than my other one so I did over measure myself. Again the construction, design and material are first rate.
Because of this fine customer service I had Dave make me a pair of jean style pants and they fit great also.

Lanlitz is one fine company and I would recommend them to all.

The collars snap down if the jacket it not zipped up all the way to your neck. They are not designed to be snapped in when all the way up.
Were you suprised by the packaging material?
Here's a picture of mine.

Hello:
I saw your post. I took my measurements today and wanted to order the Westerns. Would heavy leather be too much? I am happy to spend a lot of time on break in for something tough.
I would think that is a little to much but you need to get what YOU want so you will be happy. I got mine in light and they are still pretty thick so maybe medium will work for you. But, call Dave and ask him as they are the experts. Also, you may want to ask if he will send you a sample pair to try on then you can judge for yourself.
My jacket is medium and is taking some time to break in but I think it is just fine. The goatskin didn't work for me but does for a lot of others.
Bottom line is you will love the construction and design!!!!

It's mentioned above in my first post. It was to light/thin and bunched up at the elbows, collars snapped at my chin, back flapped and I probably sized myself to large. I don't ride with a windshield which may prevent some of these problems. But I do ride 100 miles a day so it was an everyday problem!!
My new cowhide one doesn't have any of those problems now and it fits better. But I had them fit me in their shop while passing through Portland.
There garantee is the best in the business.
