I own a 65 and to me, it's the most desirable Panhead because of the many innovations. If you want a hardtail then 48 to 57 are your years. When you get a look at the prices of Knuckleheads, you'll soon lose that thought!

You may want to consider a flat head. You can still get a WL pretty reasonable.

This may bring me some heat, but flatties aren't in the same class as Knucks and Pans. JMHO

Find and attend a local AMCA meet. Antique Motorcycle Club of America. Always some nice bikes for sale. Most members are open and honest.

...and greedy. I quit that club.
