Misguided, you're in the military, right? Get to a Doc about that. And as was stated earlier, change the diet. The Doc can have the stone checked to see it's composition. This will indicate what to change in your diet. Haven't ever had one, but my best friend in the Navy did. Said it was the most painful thing he'd experience. Brought him to his knees when he had to pi$$. Also said, morphine didn't even touch the pain. Best of luck, J.T.

Been pissing these things out for 22 years. I will have em for the rest of my life. Over 200 from the left kidney, the pic was only the 2nd from the right kidney. Most are 1/3 the size and smaller. I have been to specialist after specialist. Its something called medullary sponge kidney that causes me to make them. Something I have to live with, at least it aint cancer. Should get me a bigger % of military disability when I retire................thank god for narcotics

Silly ass question, how do you know which kidney they come from?

Beleive it or not coming out the one eyed snake is the easy part, hurts for a few seconds only.

The most pain full part is when the rock is in the tube called the ureter,
between the kidney and the bladder. This can cause the kidney to become obstucted (unable to drain) and swell. That is the most painfull part. Also as it is coming down the ureter it cuts, and gouges (sharp suckers) . Untill its in the bladder the pain will be either on your left or right side and you know what kidney is the culprit. Once in you bladder its pretty much home free except the constriction caused by your prostrate gland.

That used to be a common thought, did a urologist tell you that or a regular doctor? It really isnt true. Diet isnt a big factor like they used to think. Most common cause is not enough water intake. Thyroid inbalance can cause em as well as other things. I have been through the gambit of test. With me its cause by Medullary Sponge kidney.

Medullary Sponge kidney (MSK) is a congenital, benign disorder characterized by dilatation of collecting tubules in one or more renal papillae, affecting one or both kidneys. MSK is usually a benign condition, and patients can remain asymptomatic. Despite being a congenital disorder, MSK is usually not diagnosed until the second or third decade or later of life.

heres a few more..................

Yes for the ones that are to large to pass. I have had that done 11 times and probably suffered permanent damage to my left kidney because of it, which = EVEN MORE DISABILITY.
