4000 miles ago, I installed Screamin’ Eagle Pro Slip-fit torque mufflers p/n 80388-01 on my 2003 Heritage Classic. I finally got a SERT, and just tonight re-mapped the ECM with the “1450 SE A/C & Mufflers” (CAL #1) filename 105HO103-D0.MT6.
As soon as I started the bike, I noticed immediately that it sounded better, deeper, more “Harley” like. Could my ears simply be trying to convince my brain that the money I spent on the SERT has unexpected benefits? Or, is it somehow possible that re-mapping the ECM could actually make a difference in the way an engine sounds? Thanks much.
P.S. This SERT thing is cool!

SE Air cleaner next

Thanks GrayRider. That makes sense. I'll be putting on a SE air cleaner soon. I imagine it should lean out a little with better air flow? I'll put new plugs in and keep an eye on the plugs. Thanks for the reply.
