Is there enough power???

Saw the Street Glide yesterday and went crazy:banana:

Sat on it and it felt like I was on one of my Fat Boys with hard bags & a fairing adn that is a good thing.

Here is my question doest the TC 88 realy provide enough power for that heavy bike & the fat rider (me @ 240lbs)

I checked out the Stage 1 which with the download, slip ons & aircleaner upgrade is another $600. Does that make that much of difference on a bagger.

Thanks

Most people are completely satisfied with the stocker in a Touring bike, even two up. I noticed a big difference when I did the stage one from stock but I'm addicted to "more power" so now I'm at 95", it's really quite nice but someday I'll go with the Jim's 120.

Take it for a test ride and see how you like it as is.
checked on the HD website,
FatBoy = 714 lbs
Streer Glides = 776 lbs
Gonna take alot of extra power to pull that extra 62 lbs aorund....
Really, get the Street Glide with the stage 1 you will be very happy I am sure. Once you go for that test ride, you're gonna want it for sure!
That's an extra 9% weight. Of course Jack-jack could go on a major diet and not be any slower, and decrease his risk of heart disease, but that's another story. LOL, I'm in the same boat as you Jack-jack, but 250. Have the 95" kit and it does just fine. Of course stock fatboys for me are fine too, it's all good.

I encourage you to do so. I did and I'm really happy with the outcome.
The thing is a beast as is, but when you get "on cam", HOLD ON. ;)

One thing that is rather remarkable is how smooth the motor runs, just like a stock twinkie. This is surprising with cams that have .653 lift. Another thing is this motor really breathes. You can put you hand down by the exhaust and feel the pressure.

DO IT.

Did you see that Revolution now has a Big Bore kit for this already huge motor? When you realize you still don't have enough power with your 120 you can go to 135 with just a BB! Now that's cool!
There is never enough power.:nono:

But there is always enough  to make you feel like you are going fast~!Awesome!

True that, Michael, true that!
You guys in the warm states are wearing me out, my streetglide is presently getting a makeover and it will be at least 2 months before she is going out on these salty roads so...... I can just read these forums and think.......
Are you happy with your current stock bike? I think that is a big question there. Most people do stage I. I think it runs better. Sounds better with aftermargket pipes too. But that is an opinion.

I am looking to do 95". I have rode across the country on 88. So yes its big enough. But I do feel it could have some more umph. The bike cruises great at 85 loaded down. But it is not to responsive.
I have the Stage I on my FLHTI. Haven't done a dyno run yet, but it definately has enough power to pull my fat a$$ around (works fine in 2-up too, although the mpg goes down some)! I don't think it pulls any slower than my 03 Lowrider with the equivalent Stage 1 done to it (AN Big Sucker, rejetted it, and a Hard Krome 2-1 pipe was on that bike).

I did see that thread. Amazing.

There were a couple of guys over on HTT that took new JIMS motors and had the heads done and switched to geared cams. The net result was getting 25 extra HP and TQ, IIRC in the rage of 150 HP & TQ!

I can't afford all the tires I'd need with that much power. At least not yet. Someday...
