Installing Detachable Sissy Bar on 05' 1200 Custom

Now that the holidays are over, time to put on the goodies on my wife's bike that I got her (mine are already on). I bought her the detachable sissy bar kit and before I start the install this weekend, thought I would check with anyone on the forum who has done this. The only exception to her bike is that we have the BossBag saddlebags on the bike, which she had the dealer install when she bought.

Am I talking about just installing some bolts basiclly on the fender, or am I looking at more details. I can do the basics, just get parnoid when I have to do something a little more involved that I could f*ck up. I haven't look through the directions yet, but figured I would start here first.

I've put the detachable sissy bar on my '05 1200C, was pretty simple. It takes a star shaped bit and if I remember right it used two diffrent sizes for things. I dunno about how the bags on your wifes bike would change things, but otherwise its just a matter of taking out two bolts and replacing them with the new ones and the washer things the brackets mount on.

Right on, its straight. Watch those star wrenches though, some are brittle and so be prepared that if the star snaps don't scratch nothin.-2$en#e-
