And now I do not have enough slack to install the clutch lever.. I took the tranny cover back off to see if something looked wrong, but everything looked good.. I did get enough cable slack then, but when I put it back together same thing, not enough cable slack...
Yes, cable is adjusted to no threads showing on the adjuster.
Do I need to pull the derby cover and loosen the clutch and readjust it?? Service manual gives me no direction at this point .....

Any time you put new cables on a bike especially the clutch cable. You always run all the way out or down to loosen up all slack. Put on your cables. Then start from scratch on your adjustments. You never start in the middle of a project. (Cable only). Never!

TY... I was surprised the Service manual said nothing about this...
The factory manual will throw a curve at you now and then.

But it was made for factory trained techs. Not us average grease monkeys.
