I loosened it, and engine oil came out -- what is it? Is it an adjustment?

What is the 1/4" allen head (blind) threaded plug in the bottom of the crank case, ride hand side? It is forward of the engine oil drain plug. It screws in vertically (upward), not horizontally like the engine oil drain plug. It is not an oil drain right, it's on the the bottom of the crank case, not the oil pan.

Is it an adjustment or something? I loosened it up, and engine oil came out. Can additional oil be drained there during an oil change?

Service manual is in the pipe, and I be a curious tonight.

It may have had locktite on it. It was a bit(h to break loose...

What did I do? LOL

No, It Was Forward Of The Tranny Plug...

Engine oil came out...

It is on the bottom of the crank case, right centered between the bottom of the "V".

Oh well, I'm commuting with her all this week, I might find out the hard way.

Off I go...waking up the neighbors again. Too bad...

FYI, If Anyone Cares...

2 separate shops said by phone:

Plug, probably used during manufacturing, drilled oil gallery, etc. Tighten it up, don't worry about it.

I ran it at 90 MPH both ways to make sure. A OK...LOL

If the amount of oil that came out was just a bit, then it is a dummy plug. Put it back on and don't worry about it.
