and not just any old screw but the one that anchors the lock on a detachable sideplate. My dealer has no part number for it. Anyone know where to find its catalogue number.

Go down to a dealership, get a sideplate or lock, open it up and look and see if the illustrated parts has a part number?

I'll go downstairs and see if I still have that piece of paper.

Ok, there are no parts in the lock kit, so the only thing I can guess is the sideplates themselves might have the part number in them.

Did you break it off or lose it? I would assume you could pull the other side off and run down to a hardware store and buy one just like it.

I am making 2 sets of detachable sideplates to have a removable backrest for my solo. 1 with a rack and 1 without. I had the plates lazered and bent and thought the screws would be a snap but noooooo. It was just easier for me to get a couple from HD. The dealer parts guy looked everywhere he could to find them. I've seen the press ins in the books but not chrome or stainless.
